“Living and Dying Well with Dementia”

“Living and Dying Well with Dementia”

The fifth meeting of the Values, Equalities, Rights and Dementia (VERDe) network in Loughborough on 27 January 2017 focused on “Living and Dying Well with Dementia”

The event  triggered discussions on how to plan and talk about dying well with dementia. We discussed  death as a social event and highlighted policy frameworks that exist and can be used. Practically, an example of how to facilitate a conversation about dying was introduced through the workshop.

There is one more VERDe event to come (spring 2017). Please contact Jo Ackerman at jackerman@mentalhealth.org.uk if you want more information. We also want to hear about examples of where a focus on values, rights and equalities is having a positive impact.
