The fourth meeting of the Values, Equalities, Rights and Dementia (VERDe) network in Manchester on 18 November 2016 focused how people with dementia are acting locally.
People with dementia are the experts by experience. Collectively and individually they are in a position to use their expertise to embed the rights of people living with dementia into local action.
The purpose of the event was to share some of the ways in which people living with dementia feel their human rights have been violated, and to think about the ways in which people can be empowered to take action to protect and embed their rights on a local level within their communities in which they live.
